Tyson Fury has promised an all-out assault on Anthony Joshua, insisting he will abandon caution and look to “blast him out” when the British heavyweights finally meet in Cardiff on December 11.

Fury and Joshua came face-to-face for the first time at their London press conference on Wednesday as tensions rose between the two former world champions.

The pair exchanged plenty of verbal jabs before eventually coming together for a calmer face-off ahead of their long-awaited showdown at Principality Stadium.

Fury: “I’m going to throw down”

Fury wasted little time making his intentions clear, promising fans they will not see a cautious performance when he steps into the ring against Joshua.

The 38-year-old claimed he plans to attack from the opening bell and predicted the fight could end in dramatic fashion.

“I’m going to come out and I’m going to blast him out there,” Fury said.

“It will be a Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the best man is going to win, because I’m not going to run away and I’m not going to box. I’m going to throw down!

“From what I’m seeing, I’m going to catch him and – when I do – it’s going to be curtains.”

Fury dismisses Joshua’s “landlord” claim

The outspoken heavyweight also took aim at Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn after previous references to Joshua being the “landlord” and Fury the “rent man”.

Fury rejected that description and insisted he remains the biggest name involved in the fight.

“When I look behind me, I only see one don and that’s Fury vs AJ,” he said.

“Now you’ve come to get the rent and I ain’t f**cking paying because I’m No 1.”

Fury also accused Joshua and his team of trying to avoid the fight during negotiations, claiming he eventually “checkmated” his long-time rival.

Joshua still has Fury’s respect

Despite the heated exchanges, Fury was also keen to acknowledge Joshua’s accomplishments.

The former champion described Joshua as a two-time heavyweight world champion, Olympic gold medallist and one of the biggest figures in British boxing.

However, the respect between the pair is unlikely to prevent another explosive build-up before fight night.

“It’s the icing on the cake”

After years of failed negotiations and speculation, Fury dismissed suggestions that the fight had come too late in their careers.

Instead, he described the showdown as the perfect finale to two significant British boxing careers.

“Is it f*ck too late,” Fury said. “It’s the icing on the cake of two great careers, to throw down in front of 80,000 people and may the best man win.

“Let’s go out f****** swinging.”

Fury vs Joshua finally arrives

Fury and Joshua are now set to settle their long-running rivalry at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11.

After years of negotiations, postponements and speculation, the two British heavyweights will finally share the ring – with Fury promising that fans can expect an aggressive performance from the opening bell.
