Promoter Eddie Hearn has insisted that neither Tyson Fury nor Anthony Joshua can withdraw from their planned heavyweight showdown.
Fury indicated recently that the all-British bout – pencilled in for November – was in serious jeopardy due to Joshua’s financial demands.
However, Hearn, who represents Joshua through Matchroom Sport, remains confident the fight will eventually happen given that contracts have already been signed.
Hearn dismisses concerns
According to Sky Sports, Hearn told DAZN: “We’ve signed the contract. We’re waiting for a date.
“You saw Tyson Fury shouting and screaming. There’s nothing to shout and scream about – the fight’s done.
“The fight’s signed. No-one can pull out of the fight. You can’t just pull out of a contract.
“There’s no suggestion that the fight’s not happening. No one can stop this fight from happening.
“The only way it can stop from happening is if they actually breach the contract.”

Venue discussion continues
When asked about venues, Hearn revealed that the event’s organisers, Saudi entertainment company Sela, want to move the fight to the US – despite the original contract stipulating a UK location.
“We know everybody and his dog involved in the fight wants to do the fight in America,” Hearn said.
“We don’t.
“We’ve told Sela and the team – ‘if you want to do it in America, these are the terms that we can move forward with, but we’d rather not please.’”
