Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are finally set to fight each other, and it is a fight that boxing fans have been waiting for for a very long time, writes Rant Sport’s Elliot Desage.
The two British heavyweights have been linked with each other for years, but for different reasons the fight never happened.
Now, the fight is scheduled to take place on December 11, 2026, at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Massive night for boxing
It is expected to be a massive night for boxing, with fans from all over the world watching the two fighters finally meet.
Both Fury and Joshua have had very different journeys in boxing.
Fury became world champion after beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
He then had a long break from boxing before making his comeback.
Since then, he has become one of the most famous boxers in the world.
Joshua also became a world champion and was one of the biggest names in the heavyweight division.
Gold standard
He won a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics before becoming a professional boxer.
He went on to win several world titles and became known for his powerful punching.
However, both fighters have had some difficult times in recent years.
Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk, while Joshua also suffered two defeats against the Ukrainian.
These losses were a big setback for both men, but they have continued with their careers.
Something to prove
This makes the fight even more interesting because both fighters have something to prove.
Fury will want to show that he is still one of the best heavyweights around, while Joshua will be looking to prove that he can still compete at the highest level.
Another interesting part of the fight is the difference between their boxing styles.
Fury is a very tall fighter and is good at using his size and reach. He also moves surprisingly well for someone his size.
Punching power
Joshua is also a big heavyweight, but he is probably more well known for his punching power.
If Joshua can land some big punches early, it could make things difficult for Fury.
At the same time, Fury will probably try to use his movement and reach to control the fight.
The venue should also make the night special.
Special venue
The Principality Stadium in Cardiff has hosted some big sporting events before, and with thousands of boxing fans expected to be there, the atmosphere should be very loud.
There has already been some talk about problems behind the scenes, with Fury questioning whether the fight would actually happen because of disagreements involving the promotional teams.
However, the fight is still expected to go ahead.
Ring rivalry
For many boxing fans, this is a fight that simply needed to happen.
Fury and Joshua have been two of the biggest names in British boxing for years, and fans have spent a long time wondering who would win if they ever met.
Nobody really knows what will happen when they get into the ring. That is probably one of the most exciting things about it.
After years of waiting, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are finally going to get the chance to settle their rivalry in the ring.
Now all fans have to do is wait for the first bell.
