NFL insider Adam Schefter has come out and stated that within NFL owners’ meetings they agreed to keep the tush push play.
To many fans, they have to sit and watch another season of Jalen Hurts getting those extra rushing touchdowns. Writes Rant Sports, Joshua Marshall
What is the “Tush Push”
The “tush push” is largely credited to Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, who implemented an early version with the Indianapolis Colts in 2020 before refining it into a dominant, highly efficient short yardage QB sneak play with the Eagles in 2021
Since then, the Tush Push has been seen in nearly every Eagles game, but every time the play is used, opposition fans are fuming.
The play would even be featured in their superbowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025.

Frustration from the play
The tush push was one of the most frustrating plays to come up against when playing against the Eagles.
The Tush Push has caused some speculation on whether or not the play is ‘fair’ and even ‘safe’.
From the point of the play, the QB is pushed for a pick up only a couple of yards, however the defensive is equally pushing against them, forcing the QB to be practically sandwiched between the two teams.
It also plays on how referees officiated this play.
Fox sports writer Harry Mckenna wrote “Yup, it was yet another example of officials struggling to officiate this unique play. And this instance of the Tush Push will go into the now-growing list of examples of where the play appears beyond the control of officials.”
Later, Ralph Vacchiano questioned the enjoyment of watching the play, “I have to admit that two weeks ago, when the Eagles ran it FOUR STRAIGHT TIMES against the Giants from the 3, I was questioning my support.”
Now that the play is here to stay, many fans will be frustrated by this decision, but it can be countered. The Chicago Bears would successfully counter the play.
So, will more teams figure it? We’ll find out in the 2026 NFL season.
