The start of the rise

The New York Giants, a franchise that hasn’t posted a winning record since 2022, are laying the foundation of what could be one of the league’s most exciting young rosters; and the national media is barely noticing.

Their recent history is none to sugarcoat. Since their last winning season under former HC Brian Daboll a modest 9-7-1 record, the Giants have been all over.

After years of the Giants struggling and failing year after year, with their last winning season coming in 2021/22. They have seen struggles in coaching, players and injuries, but now we could be seeing a complete turnaround and a possible new powerhouse of the NFL.

A promising future

The Giants aren’t just doing a simple rebuild, they are building to make a statement.

After years of a quarterback carousel they seem to have landed on their man for the future, selected in last year’s NFL draft Jaxson Dart boasted a invigorating rookie season. Those riveting performances was enough to attract one of the most respected coaches John Harborough.

Speaking with Dart before he got the head coach job, Harborough stated, “He got me fired up. I was the same way. I was ready to run through a brick wall after I talked to him.”

That kind of endorsement from a superbowl winning coach isn’t noise, it’s signal.

The Talent around Dart is equally compelling.

Abdul Carter, the No.3 overall pick, would set a new franchise record in his rookie year. Receiver Malik Nabers continues to develop as a genuine No.1 weapon, and Cam Skattebo brings bulldog like energy at running back.

Including a defensive line of Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns that is legitimately feared.

Eli Manning,  the two time Super Bowl MVP, recently said “You got some defense in Brian Burns, who’s getting sacks. And you got Abdul Carter, some young talent, you got big Sexy Dexy in the middle. I’m excited for that.”

Fox Sports Ralph Vacchiano praised the Giants in his 2026 power rankings, writing, “If they’re right about QB Jaxson Dart, then it’s a short leap for them to at least respectability, and now, with John Harbaugh, they finally have a capable head coach.”

After years of failure, the Giants are done apologising. The rest of the NFC East should start paying attention.
